Sun Plaza Bucharest, Romania

By the end of 2007, 5 Linden Comansa tower cranes 21LC210 - 18 Tonners were erected near the centre of Bucharest for the construction of the first hypermarket-anchored shopping mall in Romania, Sun Plaza.

The cranes were purchased by the construction company B&A, and the mounting was done by Linden Comansa’s exclusive dealer for the Rumanian market Terra. The 5 cranes were mounted on cross rail bases (both 4, 5 as 6, 0 Meter wide) and erected on heights varying from 30 up to 60 Meters.

The Sun Plaza project was developed by EMCT Romania, under the design of the Spanish architect Chapman Taylor, and is Bucharest’s newest retail and entertainment destination. Built on 4 levels, totalizing more than 76,000 m², Sun Plaza will be an “All inclusive” shopping centre. The total project will be finished in autumn 2008 and is another example of the great construction boom that Romania and especially Bucharest is experiencing at the moment.

In 2007 Linden Comansa increased its presence in the Romanian market with the sale of more than 30 cranes in the range from 50 TM up to 200 TM tower cranes.
