In spring 2007 the construction for the new shopping centre - Galéria MLYNY - was initiated in Nitra, the fourth largest city in Slovakia. The new shopping centre will modernize the downtown of the city, and is foreseen to be opened in the autumn of 2008.

The total rental space will be 25,000 square meters, and by having three over-ground floors plus 1,300 parking spaces for its customers the mall will become one of the most modern ones of the country.

Furthermore the two billion crowns investment will create roughly 600 new job opportunities. It will be used by over one million inhabitants living in the close area with a radius of 60 km. 

For this construction 4 Linden Comansa tower cranes were purchased and mounted by Comansa’s dealer for Slovakia the company Haskon S.R.O. At the jobsite there is one 10LC140 which has a maximum lifting capacity of 8 Tons in Double Reeving and lifts up 2 Tons in Simple Reeving at 60 M jib, and the crane is mounted at 46 M height and working with a frequency controlled hoist motor of 24 KW. This crane is at the centre of the construction and surrounded by three smaller 5LC5010 cranes which have all maximum loading capacity of 5 Tons (DR) and 1 Ton at 50 M jib (SR), and are mounted at 37 Meters with 18 KW hoist motors.

The Slovakian economy and the construction sector are increasing strongly both in the surroundings of Bratislava as in the North where the ski resorts are becoming more popular.

The collaboration set up between Comansa and Haskon in 2006 is booking results thanks to the professional and successful introduction of Comansa cranes in the Slovakian market, and both companies hope to continue like this in the future.
