In Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, two Linden Comansa cranes work 24 hours a day in the Metro extension Project, at Nezavisimost square. Located in the city centre, these two cranes are on sight of thousands of citizens passing by the heart of Sofia.
Their exceptional work is also observed everyday by the President of the Republic, Mr. Georgi Parvanov, the Ministers of the Government, the members of Parliament, and also the city’s most important visitors, as at the Nezavisimost square are located three emblematic buildings -the Office of the President of Bulgaria, the Parliament, and the Council of Ministers-, as well as the magnificent Sheraton Hotel.
For the construction of the Metro station at this jobsite, the workers are using a 5 LC 5010 5t at a height under hook of 26.5 meters, and a radius of 25 meters, although this model of crane can be erected at a maximum freestanding height of 49 meters, and a maximum radius of 50 meters. The 5 LC 5010 5t crane has a maximum load of 5 tons, and can load up to 1,000 kilos at the jib end.
