Linden Comansa awarded OHSAS 18001:2007 certification

The International Certification Network (IQNet), and the Spanish Association for Standardisation and Certification (AENOR), have granted Construcciones Metálicas Comansa S.A., manufacturer of Linden Comansa cranes, the OHSAS 18001:2007 Certification. This document certifies that the company has implemented and maintains an Occupational Health and Safety Management System, which fulfills the requirements of OHSAS 18001:2007 standard for the design, production and servicing of tower cranes.

OHSAS 18001, compatible with ISO 9001:2000 (quality) and ISO 14001:2004 (environmental) management standards, has been developed by international organizations and certification associations from many countries. The aim of this standard is that the companies can apply some internationally recognized Health and Safety Norms, which could help to evaluate and certify their management systems.

Thus, Linden Comansa further improves and increases its Health and Safety Management standards. The most important changes of OHSAS 18001:2007 with regard to the previous version (OHSAS 18001:1999) are, amongst others:
- The importance of "health" has now been given greater emphasis.
- Significant improvement in compatibility with ISO 14001:2004 and ISO 9001:2000.
- Introduction of New requirements.
- A new clause on the "Evaluation of Legal compliance”.
